Idea X an before - CTRL+N, CTRL+SHIFT+N
On CTRL+N, when entering the pattern which is not found in the project classes, the error message hides the checkbox (include non-project files), so it is not possible to continue the search.

Hello Vladimir,
Actually if the pattern is not found in project files, the dialog automatically
switches to searching in non-project files. If you see the error message,
it means that the pattern isn't found anywhere, so the checkbox isn't needed.

It is very unique :) UI approach, I would expect to see the checkbox always, it can be automatically selected if needed, and then the error message should be displayed next to it, but thanks for the explanation anyway.
