Feature Request: read-only flag inside the editor(s)

Now and then, when bastardising existing code, I find myself editing files I shoudln't be editing instead of the new ones I am creating (getting older?).

Any chance you, lads, can add a fake read-only flag? (or easy access to the underlying system's file-system read-only flag?

Most appreciated.

Hello Alex,

You can double-click the area to the left of the "Insert" indicator in the
status bar to toggle the read-only status of the currently opened file.

Sounds like a nice feature to mention in a new "Tip of the Day" entry.
