background indexing in Maia?

Dear JetBrains Team,

Could you please elaborate on the background indexing feature?

As far as I can tell the startup procedure is the same as in Diana (splash screen, "loading components" pop up, "scaning files to index" pop up).  Also, I did not see any difference in terms of startup speed.

Scanning files to index isn't backgroundable yet. But after that (and on
project libraries change) comes 'Indexing files' which has
'Background' button.

Could you please tell when you are planning to add the backgroundable "Scanning files to index" feature?

We are working on it, but still not sure if we'll do it, it's a bit
harder than indexing. By the way, 'Go to File' feature won't work until
this stage is complete, which for large projects (e.g. IDEA itself)
could take 4 minutes on Windows.
