I don't get it. How do you get existing resources (drawables etc.) into an Android project.

Just trying to import a few pngs into my drawables resource folders, but there doesn't seem to be any menu item to do this.

I know that IDEA supports the notion of using files where they exist on the system rather than copying them into a new structure, what the actual concept is or how you actually do this doesn't seem to be explained anywhere obvious.

Given that this is a pretty common thing for Android developers to have to import resource files, somewhere, in the help or somewhere else obvious, there should something that tells you how to do this.
there must be an easy way to do this, no?

Many thanks!

I suppose, what you need is File -> New -> Image asset.
