Annoying changes in V8 (diff & commit UI changes.)

When diffing against your source repository, now the Local version is on the left side of the diff pane view instead of the right.

The local version has been on the right side from V2.4 to V7, why all of a sudden is it now on the other side?!?!?

Also, when I commit changes to single files, I log comments about the commit, looking at the diff view. When I would hit cancel, so I could go the modal diff dialog and look around more, and then hit commit again, what I had typed to that point for the commit description was retained there. Now as of build 8890, it returns to the commit description of my last completed commit! Why would anyone want that, versus what they were already typing?!??

Thanks, just had to vent.

Hello Alex,

When diffing against your source repository, now the Local version is
on the left side of the diff pane view instead of the right.

The local version has been on the right side from V2.4 to V7, why all
of a sudden is it now on the other side?!?!?

The logic for ordering of the panes wasn't changed: the version which is
considered to be later is at the right hand side, and the earlier one is
at the left hand side. Which VCS are you using?

Also, when I commit changes to single files, I log comments about the
commit, looking at the diff view. When I would hit cancel, so I could
go the modal diff dialog and look around more, and then hit commit
again, what I had typed to that point for the commit description was
retained there. Now as of build 8890, it returns to the commit
description of my last completed commit! Why would anyone want that,
versus what they were already typing?!??

This looks like a regression indeed. Please file a JIRA issue at http://www.jetbrains.net/jira
