Working with flex is big problem

I am trying to ceate a flex application. Making use of maven to compile (when will this be supported in intellij). I am having a lot of problems with mxml and as objects working together.

I am having this piece of code:
<mx:ApplicationControlBar dock="true" id="menuDock">
<components:MainNavigationCompon />
</mx:ApplicationControlBar>

The moment I start typing in the components part, Intellij freezes up. The namespace components cannot be found, though it is declared at the top of the main.mxml file. Which was an error at my side. Problem is that without doing a thing the whole IDE freezes. Would be the same as typing a class name that does not exist.

I did manage to get it going with more memory and changing the file in an external editor. But that should not be the way of doing.

hope you can do something with this, for completeness. I am running intellij M1 on a mac with java 6

I have frequent crashes using IDEA with Java 6 under OS-X 10.5.4, too. I suspect the Java 6 port by Apple is the problem, had to revert to Java 5.
Using Flex in IDEA is an enormous memory hog - the first time I create a project (ca. 100 Flex classes only), memory goes up to 400Mb+ (indexing the Flex SDK and ActionScript libraries, I suppose). When I close IDEA and re-open the project, it seems better.

Yes, this is known problem that usage of unknown namespace prefix would
cause IDEA to become unusable until prefix is defined.
