Seam and diana #8375

Hi.

We are using IDEA to develop our seam based project, and having seam support built into our IDE is nice :)

Unfortunately all is not well in Diana. Please see the attached screenshots.

The idea-components.jpg shows the component inspector gone haywire. There is only one component with that name and that is the file opened.

The idea-conversations.jpg shows the links for start / end of conversations. The editor is unusable when that happens.

Any ideas or workarounds??

./Daniel

Hi, Daniel.

Thank you for feedback,

This bug has been detected and fixed. It relates to cyclic modules dependencies.
Please, try next build.

First, let me say that Seam support is being re-written and much enhanced for Idea 8.
Unfortunately this means that for the duration of the EAP you will probably stumble across bugs, even more so as the EAP has just begun.
On the positive side this also means that JetBrains is listening even more to user feedback and is working actively on resolving any issues in this area.

So:

The first issue has already been resolved, and will be included in the next EAP version:
http://www.jetbrains.net/jira/browse/IDEADEV-26622

I have not yet tried 8375, I did not have the problem with the previous EAP version.
IMHO you should file a Jira issue describing that bug: http://www.jetbrains.net/jira/secure/CreateIssue!default.jspa

BTW: You do know that in Idea 7.x you get a useful level of Seam support (mainly EL resolving Seam components) by mapping the xhtml extension (if you use facelets) to the JSPx file type, right?

Hi.

We are of course very well aware that EAP is beta software, and also that seam support is new for Diana. We are using the EAP to help shape the seam support in a positive way.

I have created a bug report: http://www.jetbrains.net/jira/browse/IDEA-18142 describing the conversation issue.
