I have been using the EAP releases on my 4 year old 1.25 GHz PowerBook and started to experience some performance issues. I assumed that it was due to all of the apps I run on the machine and just ignored it. I just bought a 2.4 GHz MacBook Pro and now Selena 7330 performs just fine, but I noticed that the Code Analysis square that is in the upper right hand corner of the editor window is always blank now and it says "Performing code analysis", so I'm assuming that its always on. I bet that this constant analysis was the culprit on my PowerBook.
I suggest that you get a 4-6 year old machine and take some CPU traces to do some final tuning. I will try to do one for you, but I have some work deadlines to meet right now.
