How to hide the error strip?

Hello,

I was wondering if there is any possible way to hide the error strip on the right hand side of the code editor.
I understand that many find the error strip helpful, but for me the code error underlining is sufficient. So I would like to hide the error strip.

I could not find anything in the settings that would actually do this. If there is not direct and easy way, I am also open to any unorthodox method, such as modifying a configuration file.

Thank you. I appreciate your help.

Hello,

No, it's not possible to achieve that.

While you can't turn off the vertical error strip itself, you can turn off the individual horizontal error stripe marks. Not sure if that would achieve your goal.

  1. File > Settings > [IDE Settings] > Editor > Colors & Fonts > General
  2. Select each item (Warning, Weak Warning, Error, etc). You can click the strip marks in the sample window to be taken to the item.
  3. Uncheck the "Error Stripe Mark" option.

Thanks Mark. That actually did come to mind, but unfortunatly that doesn't save the screen real estate. We can already hide all the other bells and whistles in Intellij, and it would nice if the same could be done with the error strip.
This is a feature request on YouTrack, and I hope to see it in upcoming releases.:)
