Facet detection - every time same question to adjust facet settings

#7118, WinXP SP2, jdk1.6.0_01

Every time the project is opened - "New JSF/Hibernate Facet Detected" message is displayed (see image attached). And every time I go to "Adjust Facet settings" and click Ok as there's no to adjust - all settings are correct. Until the next project restart ..

Hello Evgeny,

Please attach iml-files of your modules. Are your sure that these iml-files
was writable when you close the project?

Aha :) There are no *.iml files in my project - I open pom.xml with IDEA and it only generates an *.ipr file after that.

Our project structure is attached, the "master" pom is "workspace/pom.xml", *.ipr files generated is "workspace/workspace.ipr"

Hello Evgeny,

Facets are saved in iml-files so if your project doesn't have iml-files all
facets will be lost on exit (and redetected after restart). I can suggest
only two ways to fix the problem: you should either disable facet auto-detection
or import your project from maven with option "Create regular IDEA modules".

Ok, I wasn't aware of "Create regular IDEA modules" option and turned it on now. Are you sure the default option in Maven settings (Import -> Create temporary modules) is better over "Create regular modules" ? In my case, Facet auto-detection wasn't working properly because of that .. Ok, I'll start another thread to discuss that, there are some other issues. Thanks for your help, Facets auto detection stopped asking the questions.

If you use this option, how do you open the projects later on ? still use the pom.xml ?

Nikolay,

Can you tell me how to turn this auto-detection off? It's a nice feature, but it's doesn't always behave like I want it to (see http://www.intellij.net/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=269596&tstart=0 for example)
