Let's start with 7.0.3 this time ;-)

Heck, it's literally none of my business, but I would love to see a very solid
initial Selena release. The last two major releases were really only usable
after at least the *.0.3 minor release - possible later depending on your usage
pattern.

The recent EAP builds are beginning to take very nice shape, but it's still a
long way to go towards production quality. I am currently holding back filing
even more Jira issues because I have real work to do besides beta testing Idea.
But honestly, I could probably spit out dozens of non-trivial issues for each
day of using Idea if I would concentrate on that specific task. It feels even
worse because many of the remaining problems are somewhat "fishy", being not
really reproducible or vanishing after manual refresh or some other actions.

Well, just my 2 cents...

We would love that too. :) And the good news is that the majority of our
time until October will be spent on bugfixing and improving usability and
performance, not on any major new features.

Does it mean that we'll see no support for Strut2 and all the more for velocity in the final release?

Hello raman,

Does it mean that we'll see no support for Strut2 and all the more for
velocity in the final release?

Such support was never announced, and indeed it is not planned for 7.0 final
release.

It is very dissapointing to see that velocity support won't make it in 7.0 either :( (despite the fact
that velocity it's the most simple template language available).

If it's so simple then it shouldn't be too hard to write a plugin for it
eh? Fancy offering? ;)

I think it's not that simple because it's not just a language but a "templating language", and for
such one there's no example plug-in with code (that is non-XML related), nor documentation.
If I recall well, it would be required something like JSP support but at a very simple level.

I saw roadmap, but taking into account that you support struts, it should be logical for you to support struts 2. At least it would make happy many people :)

Given Struts 1/2 differ from the ground up, there's not much of the existing code to be taken over to a Struts2-plugin - so the efforts are quite high.
