Cloud IDE
Answered
Are there any plans for a cloud based version of IDEA? Something like
Cloud 9?

This was asked > 3 years ago. How about this moment? It would seem to be a great opportunity for Jetbrains.
IntelliJ on the cloud would be amazing.
I'm sure it could kick-ass all existing cloud ide's, as the desktop edition does.
I completely agree. There are IDE's like code anywhere, but intellij is so much better.
I'm looking for a could based development platform that would allow me to code from anything.
Is there any update on this? I'm really interested on a cloud based IDE like Cloud 9 for Javascript.
Still interested. The whole industry is going that way. Thus, it makes only sense for jetbrains to pursuit this technology.
like eclipse-theia
jetbrains must have cloud-ide
I am interested in this topic too. I think the next product from Jetbrains should be a cloud IDE.

Bumping. I am really curious if there are any plans for web ide :).
With how far along tablets are coming, a web based IDE would be awesome.
Denis Tunovic or a native iPad app + Remote SSH mode :). I am personally enjoying Visual Studio Code on my MacBook Air with Remote SSH into my Linux workstation. I use it for everything except Java and Kotlin (because IDEA is the best). I'd love to see Koltin leveraged to retarget JetBrains IDEA for the web, native (non-Swing) desktop, and mobile/tablet (if you must :-)).
Hello,
We don't have any news at that area at the moment.
Denis
please do. I'll need a web version of my IntelliJ. I think it'd be super convinient for me

You can try too. Idea in cloud.
Honestly, a native tablet app would be preferable, but who knows if this will ever be possible on iPads
It's a great opportunity
I would like this feature for IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate too. Where I can host it in a Docker container on my own server and enter my personal license. So that I can use a iPad with browser to develop.
Please see https://blog.jetbrains.com/blog/2021/03/11/projector-is-out/ .
It's work in progress, you can follow https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-226455 for the current status and updates.
Russian speaking users can check this podcast: https://apptractor.ru/info/media/podlodka-70-ustroystvo-ide.html (at 25:22 Dmitry Jemerov talks about web/mobile IDEs). In short: no such plans at the moment.
+1 for this. I was forced to switch to Visual Studio just because I can use on a browser and therefore everywhere.
Projector is really good but not accessible. I have spent hours onfiguring it with SSL certificates on an EC2 instance. When are you going to sell it as a service? I want to pay for Webstorm with 4 vCPU, 8GB RAM, and 100GB SSD monthly, like Github codespaces.
C'mon, it's 2021 and we can stream HD video games to anything connected to internet) What is more important is that software engineering is a command game and cloud IDE is the great solution to maintain predictable developer environments. I was a fully satisfied JetBrains customer for 8 years and I still am but I feel that these relations are doomed if JetBrains won't manage to provide cloud experience.
IntelliJ IDEA and WebStorm running in a browser are available here: https://intellij-frontend.vocon-it.com/?source=jetbrains-forum-cloud-ide. More information can be found here:

- WebStorm: https://vocon-it.com/2022/01/03/webstorm-cloud-desktop-the-best-javascript-ide-in-the-browser/?source=jetbrains-forum-cloud-ide
It is a free service during beta phase offered by a German startup company (vocon IT GmbH).
