Fork Java process on Open Project

Something that I would find to be very useful is forking a new Java process when I open a project.  Then when I close the project the OS can reclaim the RAM as the JVM is notoriously bad at releasing memory back to the OS.  Even though the JVM will probably GC unneeded memory internally, the VM's memory footprint from the OS's perspective continues to grow.

Is there a way to get IntelliJ to fork itself?

Hi Kieran,

No such ability is provided by the ide. You can workaround that by starting a new ide process for every new project to be opened.
