Can I use IntelliJ with groovy or scala?

also I am a Java, Spring and Maven Programmer and been using java for over  10 years now and I am looking for next step... Should I been looking  into groovy or scala.
What do you think.. most of my projects are Java, Spring MVC and Spring WebFlow but I do write some background process too.

Both the Community Edition (free) and the Ultimate Edition (licensed) of IntelliJ IDEA support Groovy and scala. For scala, the plug-in is not bundled and needs to be add in the plugins settings. You can compare features of the two editions here: http://www.jetbrains.com/idea/features/editions_comparison_matrix.html

As an FYI, while you can code Spring in both the community and ultimate editions, only the ultimate edition has the Spring plug-in available for it. The spring plug-in has a number of features that make working with Spring, Spring MVC, Spring Webflow, Spring Integration, and related technologies a dream. Both support Java and maven.

It all depends. I think having either of those languages in your quiver of arrows can be beneficial. Having both would be very good. Opinions will vary as to which would be better to know. It appears to me that Groovy has a bit more traction in the mainstream java community as a whole. So that might be the better one to start with. But if people you work with are using scala, then that would be the better one to start with.
