How to deploy RESTful web service toTomcat 6

I have searched long and hard and unless I am missing the obvious I do not see how to create and deploy a RESTful web service to Tomcat. I see that the libraries don't run with Tomcat 7 and the sample HelloWorld I think is a poor example. I am wondering if IntelliJ is even capable of creating a proper service that can be deployed to Tomcat. A couple simple steps would be appreciated.

Thanks

It is not clear fro your post, but if you are using the IDEA wizard to create the web service, it does not by default include the library jars in the artifact it builds. By default it builds an exploded web application of just your custom code. No libraries. You need to add those JARS to the artifact build definition for them to be included. Below is a link to a screencast where I create use the wizard to create a web service, add the jars, and then deploy it to Tomcat 7.  Again, the default build definition is an explode web application. To make it more "portable", you can define a second or alternative build artifact of the web application bundled in a WAR archive.

Mark,

The response was exactly what I was looking for. It is a clear and concise example of deployment.

Thank you.
