Unable to debug, same problem with 1.4/1.5 and IDEA 4.5.4 and Latest IRDA

Hi,

I'm having a hard time debugging anything within IDEA on my machine. I've tried both irda and the latest stable 4.5.4 release with both java 1.5 and 1.4.2. I always get the same error:

FATAL ERROR in native method: No transports initialized
Transport dt_socket failed to initialize, rc = 509.

I've searched over the forum and figured out the there might be something wrong with my network setup, but getHostByName("localhost") and getHostByName("]]>") are working quite well. I can ping myself and other machines in the network can ping me. I even posted this message using the default gateway on my network so the network seems to be running fine.

Any ide ? Or I really have to reinstall the OS to make this work?

I'm running WIndows XP SP1.

This is my ipconfig

I get the same error (with both 4.5.4 and the EAP builds), however only when
my target JDK is set to 1.4.2_06. If I switch my target JDK to 1.5.0 debugging
works fine. So it seems like it's something JDK related rather than network
related?

I first noticed this problem a couple of months back but can't recall what
I might have changed to cause the problem. I should try uninstalling/reinstalling
JDK 1.4.2 but I just haven't had time. Maybe that would work for you?

Perhaps the jdk installation is broken, what if reinstall the jdk?
Also, does it work with shared memory transport?

Hi,

Nope...reinstalling the JDK did not help. This is not remote debugging, just local debugging... how can I use shared memory?

PS! Is there some logging I can turn on for more verbose log messages ?

Did reinstall a clean version of 4.5.4 and the JDK. Now everything seems to be working fine.
