StarTeam support for IDEA modules?
There has been much talk about CVS and SVN, and if I could easily move my entire organization to SVN I would...but that is not going to happen anytime soon. Back before 4.0 was released I submitted an enhancement request that was ignored regarding Starteam Projects/Views vs. Modules in IDEA. JetBrains then added the ability to choose different vcs server vendors for each module (???)...but that was it.
Unless I am sorely mistaken the current StarTeam integration in IDEA is still useless, for multi-module projects. We have over forty projects in starteam mapping to modules in IDEA. One IDEA project for the multi-component product.
But in IDEA you select one starteam project for your IDEA project. That is it. What is missing is the ability to assign a StarTeam project to an IDEA module. And really it should default correctly to using the project name that matches the module name, so you do not have to map each and every module to a starteam project. Sounds easy enough, right?

As soon as you work with a multi-module project - and that's going to happen quite soon in real life - Starteam support in Idea 5 is nearly useless.
Hello Michael,

Just a minor note that shouldn't be seen as company position, product plan
or anything: the StarTeam integration plugin is released under Apache 2 license,
and we'll be happy to accept patches to it.

I haven't looked at the starteam plugin code, but are you saying you think multi-module support could be added to it, and not require anything further in IDEA itself?
If so, that is great. Still, it is disappointing to see so much effort on cvs and svn and so little on the original vcs plugin, starteam. In this case IDEA evolved (with modules) but left its flagship vcs plugin behind.
Is the starteam plugin referred to at
http://www.intellij.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/VcsIntegrations
and in CVS at
:pserver:cvs@cvs.intellij.net:/intellij-plugins
still the latest plugin? It looks like this one hasn't been updated in 3 years... If not, can you point me to where I can find the latest? I'd like to try and get it working in my environment
thanks.

No, it's some very old version. The latest version is included in the Plugin
