JSP editing performance Follow
Typing in a moderately-complex .jsp file seems REALLY slow on RC1. I have a .jsp file that is approximately 900 lines long, and it takes RC1 almost a full second to respond to EACH keystroke as I type in it- this is on a dual 2.3GHz G5!
I turned off JSP inspections, but this didn't seem to make a difference.
Am I missing something here, or is this the .jsp editing performance that we should reasonably expect for IDEA 5?

Is there a ticket for this? I'm seeing REALLY slow performance. Even
in .java files.

I created a ticket for the java performance issue.

agreed 3417 JSP editing performance is so bad it is unuseable. On a reasonably large jsp (150 lines+) each keystroke uses 100%cpu for about 10 seconds.. (no exaggeration)
with a 350 line jsp about 30secs of 100%cpu on Win2k pro with 3.4GHz proc and 3Gig RAM
cpu snapshots attached:
1 from opening a JSP (about 350lines)
2 from a single keystroke (space char) inserted into a line

Same problem! This Problem exist since a very long time!
Hi,
Please, submit cpu profiling snapshot (Press 'Capture cpu snapshot'
button on toolbar to start profiling and press second time to end it,
the button itself appears after specifying '-Xrunyjpagent:port=10101' in
idea.exe.vmoptions or similar config file, depending on launch
type/platform) or sample jsps to illustrate the problem.
