"JavaScript editing and debugging are featured."
Ahmed.
Some thing like that.
Web2.0/AJAX Development Tools - includes fully integrated JavaScript debugger
and improved JavaScript Editor with code completion and validation

Publicity stunt. A javascript debugger belongs in the browser, not IDEA (or eclipse, for that matter). If you're using Firefox, you can use Venkman. I've heard there's a script debugger for MSIE as well.
As for editing and completion, IDEA has some basic features already, and I expect a lot more to come.
I think it would be great if IDEA could attach to FF or IE to debug like
VS can.

Glad to hear it. Our company, Sixth and Red River Software, will be releasing a JavaScript code auditing and validation plugin for IDEA very shortly. Look for an announcement for Inspection-JS within the week.
(To satisfy our marketing department's curiousity, just how much is a "few" bucks?)

Hi,
Like this:

Most of basic completion/navigation is in TRUNK and eagerly waiting
Demetra EAP to start.

Do it already so we know who the heck is behind these dang emails :D

Actually, with the introduction of Javascript/scripting in Mustang, it
would be good to have a javascript debugger (or scripting engine
debugger interface) within the IDE - for -that- debugging.
But as you say, for AJAX stuff its the browser...

Indeed - I'm annoyed now - I keep getting "EAP for Refactor-J about to
end..." dialogs BEHIND my IDEA window when I startup, took me a while to
work out why IDEA was locking up on me :()
Loving the extract-class refactoring.
Sorry about that. Our mailbox is full of those reports, so please don't send any more. All I can gaurantee is that it will be fixed before the release, and that the release will happen very soon.

Where can we see information about the capabilities (or is it still a
secret? :))
+1
I would really like to see a list of the refactorings that are offered.
It would help justify the expense.

Yeah same here, they've told me it's a threading issue in idea they're trying
to resolve.

Indeed!

Loving the extract-class refactoring.
Thanks! Can we quote you on that? Better yet, can we quote your blog on that?

We are writing a Bindows application here.
If you are a company which is developing strong JavaScript support for
IntelliJ I hope you have looked at Bindows as a very good use of
JavaScript example.
I would be happy to try your plug-in. I'm sure you'll appreciate a team
working on a very rich UI built with OO JavaScript with class
hierarchies, a convention for private vs public members, getters and
setters, etc. rather than the unfortunate "usual" usage of JavaScript -
a pile of functions.
If you are interested, please tell me which e-mail address to send my
contact info to.
Regards,
Amnon
