I've having trouble connecting to perforce

I've having trouble connecting to perforce, I have a succesful connection the the perforce settings but when I try an edit a file it does not give me an option to clear read only via version control :(

+ using the P4Config files never works

I'd guess you didn't set Perforce as VCS for your project, but just did the Perforce specific settings.
