It would be very useful to provide information about your project structure. E.g. I've checked this on Windows with mapped drive O: and project path O:\temp-01. All is Ok.
Does it occur with *every* project in network directory?
When I say it "freezes" it continues to initialize the directory for days...Any suggestions?

If the log is Ok, you can check for thread dumps (http://devnet.jetbrains.net/docs/DOC-260) or take a CPU snapshot (http://devnet.jetbrains.net/docs/DOC-1253).

The Log file is fine.
the problem still occurs in non project directories.
