10.5.1 - Empty Project View After Maven Import

As you can see from this screenshot, the Project View is corrupted/empty after a Maven pom.xml import to create an IDEA project in 10.5.1. I haven't seen this issue in previous versions.

To fix it, I have to close the project re-open it or close IDEA and re-open.

There seems to be a general file caching issue with 10.5.1 as this happens as well as the bogus error highlighting mentioned in another post.
