I'm not sure doughnuts are a good idea, if we want them to keep working:

See:
http://members.dcn.org/cookie/penisfacts.html

, and search for "doughnuts" at the bottom of the page.

Looks like the smell of donuts works for Marcus, anyway :)

No donuts here, unfortunately. But coffee with cinnamon works wonders :)

Don't worry: it will grow back later.

Take a shower.

Hmmm, back from lunch. Love the cinnamon. Hate those formatter exceptions while editing JSP pages.

Oh, no showers at work.

Please send me jsp files producing exceptions while editing with comments
"how to reproduce".
I'll try to fix them ASAP.

Just opening the attached file creates an exception that can kill the editor in such a way that redraw stops completely; the problem persists after restart unless you use the "Close All Editors" command because the file is still open. I attached it to the issue with the stack trace in the tracker (http://intellij.net/tracker/idea/viewSCR?publicIdP244), but just in case that was missed, here it is again.

Yikes... I wonder if you took out the <% %> from the section where you
have the comments if it stops doing that. I'm not entirely sure why you
have a begin and end script definition for comments, it's not code.
Wouldn't a more appropriate tag be <%-- --%> ?

I agree; it's absolutely awful code . . . but I didn't write it, and unfortunately,
I can't change it. :( It's because of policy, of course -- we're reusing
the code in a new project but not updating it except where absolutely necessary.
Believe it or not, the JSP is by no means the worst coding abomination in
the project (the build.xml file is over 2000 lines long, for example), so
unless it causes IDEA to crash, I clench my fingers to avoid the urge to
"accidentally" delete various files out of source control (PVCS, so I'd be
deleting history, too :( ) and focus on things that I can actually fix.

As for the odd comment style, IDEA doesn't seem to have any problems with
it, as it's all over our project, and that's the only file that I've found
that causes this error. Thanks for the suggestion, though. :)

--Mike

On the plus side, if IDEA can handle a file that is so ridiculously bad,
it should work great for everything else. ;)

I've submitted a ticket to the tracker the first time it happened, than dismissed the others as duplicates. Here's the link:
