Enhance IntelliJ performance on Dual CPUs?

I was wondering about increasing the performance of IntelliJ now that I have
an X2 processor. A friend of mine said to use the following JVM parameters
but they don't see to work in IntelliJ. IntelliJ won't start with these:

-XX:SurvivorRatio=2
-XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC
-XX:NewRatio=2

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Grant

The -X... parameters are non standard parameters and may not exist in the VM that you are using. If you are running on a Mac or other Unix varient, you can do a "man java" to see what's available. I don't know how to do the equivalent under windows.

The Yourkit profiling agent doesn't like that garbage collector.
Unfortunately it only prints an error message to the console, even when
you start without one. That could be the problem you are having. Remove
-Xrunyjpagent:port=10100 if you have it.
