Status of focus stealing on Linux

What's the status of the focus stealing issue under Linux?

Eugene said it was going to be fixed for 5.0 - is this still the plan?

Its as annoying as something thats really annoying on a really annoying day after a really annoying morning.
Its just plain annoying.

I'd be interested in hearing about this as well. On several occassions I have actually gone as far as to reinstall my OS with a different window environment (KDE) just to try and get a handle on this problem. I always end up back with Gnome after a few days though.

Every time a popup window in Idea appears without focus I grit my teeth and wonder how much Eclipse or Netbeans have improved since the last time I tried them. I know I couldn't switch but this is the only problem in Idea that has ever made me want to.

Isn't it better when running IDEA under 1.5.0_03? I've heard Linux related
focus issues where fixed there.

No. It's not fixed.

And it's still really annoying.

Definitely not fixed in 1.5.0_03.

The MOST annoying aspect of this annoying problem is when you are running an ANT build, and doing something else on another screen. When the build completes, you are dragged back, kicking and screaming into IDEA. Even if you set ANT to "background" execution, you still get kidnapped.

It's very annoying. I cannot stress enough how annoying it really is. It's also one of the oldest IDEA complaints, which makes it even more annoying. I completely agree with the original poster.

Yet again, please do not mix issues in one based on the fact they have same
keyword 'focus' in.
They've been just talking about popup window appears without focus in it.
Is THAT still bugs you?

The initial topic was "Status of focus stealing on Linux
" - not lost focus {:-)

The lost focus issues are much improved (this had improved prior to 1.5.0_03).

The stolen focus however... {:-)
