ide talk does not work in Ubuntu?

Hi there,

Does anyone know whether IDE Talk will work in Ubuntu? We tried to connect to IDE talk,
1. adding other jabber id works ok
2. can see contacts online/away

My colleagues who are using Mac can talk to each other without any problem. One of my colleague also mentioned that I go online and offline most of the time.

Here are some bit of informations in case it helps at all

  1. I am connected to jabber.org
  2. My colleagues connected to
    • jabber.org
    • jabber.org.au
    • gmail.com
  3. uname -rv
    • 2.6.35-27-generic-pae #48-Ubuntu SMP Tue Feb 22 21:46:58 UTC 2011
  4. Ubuntu version 10.10
  5. Intellij IDEA 10.0.2 Build 103.72
  6. SUN/Oracle JDK 1.6.0_24


Any help is much appreciated.

so no one can confirm the same problem ? or no one using ide talk :)

I am using Ubuntu and I have used IDETalk without any problems.  However, we are using an internal jabber server.
