"Sort by type", but still no "show/hide test" !!!

Once upon a time, there was an IDEA version - was is 2.0, or 3.0 -
where we could filter out test from production classes in the package
panel. And then, one day, it vanished, for no good reason.

There's a request, deep down in your Jira db, that's not receiving the
attention it deserves. I just hope it's not in the backlog.
If you find it, please tell me, so I can beg people, bribe them with
donuts, to make them vote for it.
I'm not the kind that would usually threaten to drawn your canary to
make you move in the right direction, but some issues are bigger than
us, and I'm ready to make any sacrifice it will take. Even your pet canary.

It's on the Irida list, you know.

Alleluia

What I still don't get is that "Sort by type" contains all that 's
required for show/hide tests, and much more, and it came out first.
Anyway, I can stop praying the java god (No, not Starbucks), and it's a
good thing for my sore knees.

It would be REALLY GREAT when this (rather simple to implement?) feature
would be part of an EAP build ASAP (the next one? ;)).
Don't many others miss this feature a lot too? I like having the tests
"integrated" by IDEA (i.e. being able to put them into the module, not
needing to "manually" manage them) but I really miss this one...
currently I'm forced to put the "simple" unit tests into another
top-level package (e.g. classes in com.company.package.ui, test-classes
in test.company.package.ui; only when tests are not intended to be
delivered of course...). My "complex" JUnit tests (because they're no
more "unit tests" like originally intended) go into separate modules
(e.g. TestClient for testing a whole EJB Module).
That's just BTW, "long talk short sense" (again BTW, this is a german
phrase literally translated, so probably wrong. Is there an (US) english
phrase for this? I always wanted to know...) I'd really appreciate when
this feature would be given high priority, what do others think? I'll
vote when it helps :)

kind regards,

Messi
