starting debug session: have debugger instead of frames view first?

When starting a debug session on idea 10, there are several view panels, including "debugger", "frames", "console".  By default, the "frames" view gets focus as the session comes up.

Is there a way to have the debugger view come up (get focus) first, instead of the frames view?

thanks,

larry

Hi Larry,

Frames and Variables views are sub-views of "Debugger" view. First view to get focus is Console. When first breakpoint is hit, the focus is auto9matically transferred to Frames (Debugger tab is automatically opened because Frames is conteined there). This is done only once after debug session start and then IDEA simply keeps active the last opened view.
What particular view you mean when talking about "Debugger" view?

Eugene.

For "view", I mean "tab".

Yes, the "frames" tab is focused after the console tab.  Is there a way to have the "debugger" tab, where variable values are shown, be the first focus?

When I hit a breakpoint, I always want to see the variable values. I almost never want to see the content of the frames tab.

thanks,

Eugene, I vaguely recall that the tab now called "debugger" used to be called "variables".  Is the renaming a bug?

Is there any way to make it (the subview for variables, now called tab "debugger") get focus instead of the frames tab?

Is there any way to make the subview for variables (now labeled "debugger" on the tab) get focus instead of the frames tab?
