What I see in the Plugins settings is only a plugin called "J2ME Plugin". It's description is "IntelliJ IDEA J2ME plugin" and the vendor is "JetBrains". Is that the built in plugin? I seem to have version 0.0.1 and the available version is 0.2 build 10.

All plugins from "Available Tab" of Plugin Settings are plugins from Plugin Repository. There is no built in plugins in Plugins Repository. So you already has a built in J2ME Plugin with version 0.0.1. Thanks.

Thanks, I was confused as this plug-in had JetBrains as the vendor...

I can't uninstall the plugin, that's correct.
And that plugin (out of date with version 0.2 build 10) is there. Everything is OK.
Hmm... How is everything OK? I can ask to delete it and IJ states it will be deleted but in fact it won't (that has to be a bug at least). And I'd like to understand again - Should I update to version 0.2 or not?
We'll try to get these moment more clear.
Do you mean that you will try to clarify these points / issues? That would be great.

Actually, I think there may be some sort of name collision at work here... The J2ME plugin '0.2 build 10' is the non-JetBrains one (by 'PinSoft'), but it's being reported as an update to the (included-in-download) JetBrains one. That's wrong, surely.

It seems to me I filed a bug report on a similar collision involving the Perforce plug-in quite a while ago. That one seems to have since been resolved--the Plug-in Manager no longer reports that there is a new version available for download as it did then. Perhaps this is a similar problem.

That's quite possible. I just noticed the same thing with the Subversion plugin - it wants to 'upgrade' from the JetBrains version to the (older) QintSoft version.
I suggest that plug-ins will have a UUID to avoid loose name matching.

That would work - but why not simply use the fully-qualified name of the 'main' plugin class? The ]]> name, I think? Saves introducing a new attribute.
Hi,
currently there are 2 J2ME plugin -
1. J2MESupport - a third party plugin, and
2. J2ME build-in IDEA plugin
The second one isn't in plugins repository.
So you have to choose which one to use :)
Thanks.
