Uninstall prior versions?

Now that IDEA 903 is out, I have 902 and an EA version of 903 (new to IDEA) that aren't needed any more. Is it safe to uninstall them? Or am I at risk of losing prefs/projects/plugins/etc?

Thanks

The uninstall program will give you the option to delete (or save) your settings and plugins.  If you want to be extra safe, you can backup the ~/.IntelliJIdea90/config directory, where ~ is your user home directory. (The ~/.IntelliJIdea90/system directory is primarily caches and indexes. It is very large, not too critical if lost, and easily reproduced, so it does not make sense to back it up.)

p.s. another option is to simply delete the IntelliJ 9.0.2 and EAP install directories . The only system changes the installer makes is to 1) create the shortcut and 2) to (optionally) register the .ipr IDEA project file with the idea.exe program. But that will have been changed to the latest version when you installed it. So there is really no major system cleanup needed by the uninstaller. As such, a simple directory deletion works.
