ALT + Tab Bug in Build #2235

When I switch between IDEA and other programs on Windows XP Pro (SP2) using ALT + TAB IDEA selects the File menu even when I switch back to IDEA. This means that I sometimes need to press ALT again before I can type again in the editor.

This is a very annoying bug. Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks.

I agree that it would be great to see this fixed. Just to be clear: It's
not a new behavior. It's been present for a long, long time.

I always assumed it was a Swing-related glitch on Windows, where ALT is
used to activate menu shortcuts.

Same problem here. It only happens when pressing Alt+Tab quickly. If you do
it slowly then there's no problem, but I'm used to doing it quickly.

Have you logged a tracker issue for this?

Nope.

There is already a bug on this. I don't have the # handy, but apparently it's a Swing bug and not Idea-specific. It only happens in Idea when using the Windows L&F, AFAIK. It annoyed me so much that I just switched back to using the Idea L&F.

Ah, yes, going back to IDEA L&F solved it. Thanks.

Thanks, I'll try that. Would be nice to have a workaround though as I prefer the Windows L&F. But hey, I'm not fussy!

Ah... I see why I never experienced it.

I too would love to see this fixed.

I personally like the windows L&F more then the IDEA L&F and it is really annoying. In fact my two largest gripes with IDEA would be this one and the lack of cleartype support.

Hi,

I am running SUSE Linux 9.1 and this happens EVERY TIME I use cvs out of IDEA (I guess the popup catches my focus).

With JRE 1.5 the problem is gone.... :(
