unit tests will not start

hi.

I seem to have some trouble with the unit test runner. It will not run many tests with java 1.3.x .

here is the output when i try to run any unit test:

I can run them if I use 1.4.x but then I get java.lang.StackOverflowError's. It doesn't seem to be related to a given build. it all started happening yesterday while using RC V and updating to RC VI hasn't helped.

I think there may be something wrong with my code... but it compiles and it seems the junit or IDEA environment does not catch it.

Any ideas?
