White vertical lines in 9.0.2?

Why are there bold, white, vertical lines in my code since I upgraded from 9.0.1 to 9.0.2 and how do I dim them?

FYI, running on Ubuntu Linux 9.10 (karmic).

Settings -> Editor -> Appearance -> Show vertical indent guides

Aaahhhh.  Thank you.  I nice feature would be to be able to set the color.  A very dim "vertical indent guide" would be helpful, but it was the brightest thing in my code.
