Application server debug environment variables lost

I'm having a problem after upgrading to 9.0.2.  In prior versions, I'd gotten used to not being able to update the JAVA_OPTS environment variable and had worked around this by adding its contents and my additional settings to a new JAVA_OPTS entry.  However, as of 9.0.2, additional entries in the application server debug settings are no longer saved.  I can add environment variables, but as soon as I leave the project, they are lost (when I reopen the project, the additional entries are gone).  The environment settings in Run appear to be OK.  This is pretty aggravating...  is anybody else having this problem and can anyone suggest a fix or workaround?  I'm running on Win 7 x64 and have the same issue with both a Tomcat and JBoss setup.  Ideally, there should be a way to add additional values to JAVA_OPTS as well (short of editing the app server startup scripts manually).

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions...
