I don't understand why IntelliJ IDEA support almost all the java web application server with the notable exception of Jetty.
I can't comment on why no "official" (by which I assume you mean developed, maintained and distributed by JetBrains) support, but you could try http://plugins.intellij.net/plugin/?idea&id=1311 which was recently updated to support IntelliJ IDEA 9 and Jetty/Hightide 7.
