IDEA not accepting the caret sometimes

Has anyone experienced this behavior? Sometimes when I perform a CVS operation (it may be possible that this happens more often but it seems to be most noticeable after CVS updates and/or commits) IDEA stops accepting user input. It doesn't freeze, I just can't put the caret into the editor or perform any work. Switching to another application and back into IDEA fixes the problem and gets IDEA back on its feet.

Has anyone experienced this? Has it been reported as a bug?

I'm running Linux, XFree86 4.3, KDE 3.2.1.

Kind regards, Stefan Freyr.

But I don't experience this myself as I work under windows 2000.

It happens on windows as well (just experienced it yesterday on WinXP with 1178). One interesting thing is that some keys are processed, although incorrectly (up and down arrows move the text up and down rather than moving the cursor).
You don't have to go to another application, just switch to another editor window and back and you should be OK (I got this tip from someone else on the newsgroups at some point). It's a bit quicker.

I've had this happen with build 1177 and Windows 2000. It seems like IDEA
thinks the Ctrl or some other modifier key is still held down.

Switching to another app or another editor does "reset" the state.

Not just Windows - this happens on Linux and with the released 4.0.1 too!
