IDEA 9 Won't Open... Anything

Yesterday, my new install of IDEA 9 [MacOS] seemed to be working well. This morning, however, as I opened a project, it told me it needed to update a plugin. After the update, IDEA restarted, began to load the project (progress bar starts then quickly vanishes), then just dumped to the empty grey IDEA screen.

Every project I try to open produces the same results, whether it's an 8.x or 9.x project.

Perhaps more frightening, it will not open Preferences or Settings or anything else. Help!

I'm running Snow Leopard (10.6.2), using Apple's JDK (1.6.0_17 x64).

Hello Tim,

You can go to ~/Library/Application Support/IntelliJIdea90 and remove the
offending plugin manually. Then everything should be back to working state.

OK... seems to have had something to do with the TeamCity Integration plugin. When I removed that, everything went back to working.

Thanks!

Tim,

Make sure you have the latest TeamCity plug-in from either 4.5.5 or 5.0. Some of the older ones are not compatible. See http://www.jetbrains.net/devnet/message/5245088 for a discussion of the matter when it occurred during the development of IDEA 9.

Once you upgrade, you should not have any problems.

Regards,
Mark
