please reopen #23451

I'm posting here, because postings in the SCR didn't seem to get noticed.

Please reopen
http://www.intellij.net/tracker/idea/viewSCR?publicId=23451 "jikes
support broken". Which is still broken in #1144.

that Jetbrains would look into the problem but, as long as there is no
SCR open about it, I'm worried. Compiling is such a basic feature of an
ide, it would be a great shame to leave it broken in a release.
Or should I open another SCR for this issue?

Hi Bas,
If you mean the problem that jikes "does not find packages that definitely
exist", could you please describe the scenario one should follow in order to
reproduce the bug?
Am I right that this is reproducible only when you invoke explicit
compilation (ctrl-shift-F9) on class A defined in "A.java" that uses class B
defined in "B.java"?

Yes, please see below.

No, I'm having this issue with the "Rebuild Project" and "Make Project"
actions. I never use explicit compilation, so I don't know if the
problem occurs there too.
A while ago (28 January) I have posted a small test project in SCR
#23451 with which I can reproduce the problem. Could you try that and
see if it does for you too?
I just open the project and invoke "Rebuild Project" immediately. You
probably need to configure at least the location of jikes.exe in the
project first. After that the build fails with an error that ends with:

E:\Projects\JikesTest\src\com\carp\paul\webspider\core\InternetDocument.java

Error: line (3) Semantic Error : You need to modify your
classpath, sourcepath, bootclasspath, and/or extdirs setup. Package
"com/carp/paul/tools/document" could not be found in:

But that package is clearly available.

I hope this helps you to reproduce and locate the problem. Oh, and this
is on Windows 2000 by the way. But I think it is reproducable on other
platforms.

Bas

Thanks Bas!
Now I think the issue is closed. Please check it in build 1152 (or later)
when it is available

Thank you! I'm really looking forward to those builds.

Yes! Building with jikes works again in 1154 and 1156.
