Crashing upon startup

When I start up Idea 4.o from start->programs, the splash screen comes up but then it just dies or the Idea window opens and it starts scanning files and then just dies. i usually have ti try 3 or 4 times before it finally starts up successfully.

This problem started happing I think when I interrupted it while scanning files one time. I just killed the window because I wanted to start it up with different memory settings. I have installed many new versions since this incident, but I still have this issue.

I am using 1138 right now and I still have the problem.

I am running WIndows XP and I have 1Gig of ram.

My memory settings in idea.lax are:

Xms256m -Xmx312m

Any suggestions?
