Refactoring methods - have only 1 instance of IntelliJ

While doing refactoring methods using IntelliJ IDE, make sure only one instance of IntelliJ is open.

If 2 instances of IntelliJ is open, it behaves differently and does not function the right way.

are you sure, can you reproduce this problem?

I never had refactoring problems while having two instances of intellij open.
