Debugging a blackberry simulator

I am trying to setup a blackberry development environment using Intellij IDEA 8.1 as my IDE. I have successfully set it up using bb-ant-tools and ant. Building and signing works just fine.

Now, I am trying to get debugging on the simulator working. I start JDWP. Next from Intellij, I put in the configuration for Remote debugging, the server and port of the JDWP instance usually localhost and 8000. It says it is connected, but no log statements show up. The simulator get started correctly, but the simulator never leaves the "Debugger Attaching" screen.

If I use jdb, then it works.

>jdb -connect com.sun.jdi.SocketAttach:hostname=,port=8010
Deferring uncaught java.lang.Throwable.
It will be set after the class is loaded.
Initializing jdb ...
VM Started: resume
All threads resumed.
> Set deferred uncaught java.lang.Throwable
All threads resumed.

Apparently, the threads stop and then need to be resumed. I had to resume twice before the Debugger Attaching screen went away. Is it possible to do this in Intellij?  Has anyone solved this or gotten debugging to work from Intellij?

I am guessing by the lack of response that this is not possible or no one has solved it.
