Drag-and-drop tabs outside the main window

I was using NetBeans for while and get accustomed with one cool feature: I can easily drag a tab from NetBeans main window and drop it outside (for example, on another monitor screen). It gives a great possibility to work with two or even more files simultaneously.
I know that IDEA has a feature to split screen. However, it does not really help if you have two monitors.

Are there any plans to implement such behavior and, maybe, improve tab controls at all?
