No official Scala support in IntelliJ IDEA 9?

It looks like there are no plans to include Scala support into IntelliJ IDEA 9? I know that a Scala plugin exists (that was the main reason for me to buy IntelliJ IDEA 8.) However, since it isn't officially supported, Scala plugin developers seem not to have enough resources. There are great expectation for Scala, many emerging projects. It's enough to say that Twitter is being partially re-written in Scala...

Vladimir,

Since the Scala plug-in for IDEA is a being developed by JetBrains personel and since furthermore JetBrains programmers are contributing to the EPFL Scala development effot, I don't think it's accurate to say there's no official support for Scala in IDEA (8.1 or 9.0).

It is also my opinion that IDEA has the best Scala support of the three Java IDEs. I base that on my own experience with IDEA and what I hear from other developers using the other two IDE's with Scala support

Randall,

You understand, I didn't mean any offence. I'm just a big Scala enthusiast...

Hello Vladimir,

First of all, we haven't yet made any decision regarding the bundling of
Scala plugin into IntelliJ IDEA 9.

Having the plugin as non-bundled actually allows it to evolve faster, because
it's not tied to the release cycle of IDEA major releases and bugfix updates.

Also note that the Scala plugin team won't magically increase in size if
we decide to bundle the plugin. These are completely unrelated issues.
