Newbie Grails Test Configuration Question

I have not been able to google an answer nor get it through the user doc, though it probably has been asked many times. I cannot determine what I must do to set the environment to dev rather than have it default to test. I thought entering dev in the Grails Script Parameters would do the trick, but to no avail.
