How do you get focus to the quick documentation window when used with code complete?

When using code complete, if you open the quick documentation window (ctrl+Q), how can you select (i.e. move focus to) the quick documentation window via the keyboard in order to scroll down in it (for long documentation)? And then how would you move focus back to the code complete window? Six years of using IDEA and I just realized I don't know how to do this. D'Oh!

Thanks,
Mark

Mark,

I know you asked how to do this via the keyboard, but I notice that when I click on the documentation window with the mouse, the code complete list disappears. Have you gotten the keyboard navigation to work, and if so, are you seeing this same behavior?

Paul,

I have not gotten the keyboard navigation to work (or more precisely, figured out the correct shortcut if one does exist). I'm hoping someone from JetBrains might be able to let us know about this. If not, I'll have to assume it's not possible and I'll open a feature request on it.

As for the code completion window disappearing when clicking on the documentation window, that's a behavior (and I assume a bug) introduced in IDEA 8. I opened a JIRA bug report (http://www.jetbrains.net/jira/browse/IDEA-21310) on the issue. Please consider voting for it. IMHO. it's a really annoying bug. I'm working with some new API's on my current project and am therefore using the quick documentation a lot. For it to cause the code completion window to disappear is a major pain.

Best Regards,
Mark
