in our development team we have a somewhat strange setup:
Many of our Java source files are generated from XML descriptor files using Velocity; this is done via an Ant target and can be invoked from within IDEA.
The interesting part is that after the actual file generation, the generator routine will do a 'touch' on the generated file with the timestamp of the corresponsing XML file.
This will cause the newly generated file to have the same timestamp as its predecessor, even though the content may be different (e.g. Velocity places a timestamp in the file), especially if the Velocity template has changed.
Probably because of the identical timestamps, IDEA does not pick up the changes when synchronizing the files.
Is there a way around this problem?
