As you can probably guess by now, it seems Jetbrains folks prefer the NNTP inteface to the web interface. I think they created the new groups on the newsgrup server but haven't updated the Jive forums links.
Hello Eugene, remember us poor folks who can't access NNTP at work :)
Prevent employees from spending working hours on non-work related topics (alt.binaries.pictures/music) rather than doing something useful like discuss enhancements of their favourite IDE ?! Disabling newsgroups access altogether is so much easier than selective access. Off course it's totally useless with all those thing being available on HTTP also.

is there a GOOD reason for a sysadmin to prevent developers from using
