Commit File hotkey

How can I assign hotkey (or keymap) to the menu item: Version Control > CVS > Commit File. I can't do it in both idea 6 and 7. In idea 4.5 it works.

Kind regards, Andrei.

Main Menu | Version Control | Check In Project

Commit project and commit file is the same action now - you can't assign
different shortcuts to commit project and commit file.

It is not what I'm looking for. I need simple dialog that has only comment input field like it was in idea 4.5 The dialog that is called from Main Menu | Version Control | Check In Project has a lot of extra staff for single file commit task: changed files tree, summary, before & after commit settings. During regular work all these settings are usually not needed.
My question is still open: can I somehow call simple old-style commit file dialog with only comment field and ok, cancel button for commit single file? Maybe I need to do any some additional settings? It was very convenient and frequently used feature in idea 4.5 and it would be very nice to have option in the current version of idea.

Kind regards, Andrei.

This dialog does not exist any more in new versions of IntelliJ IDEA, and
we don't have any plans to bring it back. Even when you commit a single file,
many options provided by the current dialog ("run code analysis", "tag files
after commit", the ability to view diffs etc.) are useful.

It's a pity since it was very nice feature in previous versions of idea.

I've noticed that "CVS > Commit File" can be called from menu but we can't assign a short cut for it (seems like a bug). However we can assign hotkey for "Commit Changes". Seems that "Commit Changes" is somehow equal to "Commit file" option but works only in "Changes" view ("Version Control > Show changes view").

Is it possible to assign hotkey for the "Version Control > CVS > Commit File" menu item?

If you are not going to bring it back maybe you can add an option (like a simple toggle button in the toolbar) to the current Commit File dialog that will hide "Changed Files", "Summary", "Before Commit", "After Commit" panels. When this button is selected these panels are hidden otherwise they are visible (by default).

Thanks, Andrei.

You wrote: "Commit project and commit file is the same action". However, "Check In Project" selects several modified files by default while "Commit file" selects only one current file. I need to assign hotkey to this "Commit file" menu item. If the menu item is exist: "Main Menu | Version Control | CVS | Commit File" why it's denied to assign a shorcut to it?

Anyway I've found the solution for this problem. Assign hotkey to "Main Menu > Version Control > CVS > Commit File" steps:

Add the following code into config\options\macros.xml
Assign a hotkey for the new macro in IDE Settings > Keymap > Macros >]]> Commit File

I did this by adding shortcut to "Check in" instead of "Check in project". So apparently you can do this now.

Just search for "Check in" in the keyboard shortcuts and you can change it there.
