Moving a class creates uncompilable code?

When I move or delete the only class of a package to a new package, the old
package goes away, but IDEA doesn't delete the import statements that point
to that old package, which causes compiler errors.

I couldn't find a bug report about that, but I'm sure it must be there. Has
anyone seen it?

(And there's no way to delete an empty package; when you right-click on a
folder in the project view, it asks if you want to delete the directory. I
was hoping I could delete an empty package and have its references removed
from the classes that reference it. I also didn't see a bug report/feature
request for that one (though I saw "safe delete refactoring for packages",
which might be the one).)
