Timeline?

Hi.

I know you guys hate these sorts of questions but the thing is that I'm going to be TAing a programming course at a university next fall and up until now we've been using JBuilder. Both me and the lecturer use IDEA at work and we'd like to change over to using that.

So I'm wondering if you guys have any timeline for when Aurora is going to be released?

Sorry :o$

Why can't you TA with 3.0.4?

We could... and probably will if Aurora will not be released until "too late".

But the school prides itself on using the latest technology and such and if you think about it this is really the right environment for living on the edge.

Also, things like the GUI builder would come in handy... especially since we're not going to be teaching Swing and it won't be the objective of creating a GUI app to learn Swing... the "idiot proof" GUI builder may very well come in handy.

A question I asked a couple of days ago to sales@intellij.com - their
response was (with my question prepended):

===

Im unsure if the EAP is a phase while you are building towards version x
(4.0 for example), or whether it is an ongoing cycle.

Yes, the EAP is phase towards the next major release, most likely IDEA
4.0, which is going to be released in the mid of Autumn
===

Hope that helps,
